Rachel Cynthia Hoskins

Rachel Cynthia (Brokaw) Hoskins of Kirksville, surrounded by family, passed away Sunday, March 3rd, 2024 at The Pines after a brief illness.

Rachel was born in La Plata, MO on June 9th, 1941, the daughter of Albert and Eunice “Bea” Brokaw. She married Glen Hoskins on March 7th, 1964 and they eventually settled in Kirksville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, and a son, Kenneth Hoskins.

Rachel is survived by her children, Gail (Karen) Hoskins of Kirksville, and Glenna (Stephen) Bennett of Sterling, VA; her grandchildren, Alicia Hughson of Hannibal, Zachary Somerfield of Charleston, SC, and Jacob Somerfield of Chesapeake, VA; seven great-grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rachel was raised on a farm and worked in several restaurants and then Vic Cleaners which she purchased in 1980 where she remained until retiring in 2019. Rachel loved her customers, especially the KPD, and missed them dearly after her retirement.

Rachel will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
