Randy Alexander, 65, of Queen City passed away Monday (March 25, 2019) at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
The son of R.E and Shirley (Wood) Alexander he was born June 3, 1953 in the hospital in Kirksville. Randy grew up in rural Queen City and attended the Queen City Public School graduating with the class of 1971.
On June 19, 1976, in the Queen City Christian Church he was married to Wynette Pearson, and to this marriage one daughter, Kimberly was born.
Randy worked for Hollister for about twenty-five years, Baldwins Biz Mart for several years, Securtas about two years, and Sodexho at Truman University until he retired.
Randy is survived by his wife, Wynette and daughter Kimberly of the home, sister Carol Ann Salsberry and husband Billy of rural Queen City, brother-in-law Terry Pearson and wife Lisa of Kirksville, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and mother and father in law.
He was a member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge for a few years.
Randy enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, the Kansas City Chiefs, Missouri Football, and Nascar. He also enjoyed putting together plastic model cars and airplanes. He enjoyed his dog Bandit and referred to his daughters dog Stevie as his grandson.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday (March 29, 2019) in the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, Kirksville with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ron Atkinson, John Applegate, Jim Applegate, Bobby Waddle, David Wray, Billy Salsberry and Bobby Salsberry.
Honorary bearers will be Terry Sevits, David Snider, Randy Johns, Terry Pearson, Matt Pearson, and Josh Pearson.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday (March 28, 2019) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, Kirksville.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
