Rebecca Ann Rollins

Rebecca Rollins, 55, of Unionville, MO, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Saturday, August 31, 2019.

Rebecca Ann Rollins was born in Cape Girardeau, MO, on August 4, 1964, the daughter of Billy True and Ruth Luella (Langston) Sheppard, who preceded her in death. Her father was a school superintendent, so Rebecca grew up in various locations in Missouri. She graduated from high school in Calhoun, MO. Rebecca graduated from Buena Vista College in Ottumwa, IA, with a degree in human resource management. She married James Rollins in Unionville, MO, on October 14, 1995, and he survives.

Rebecca worked in the office at PSF in Princeton and then worked several years with the Division of Family Services in Putnam County. She also worked with the Northeast Community Action Center in Kirksville as a human service auditor. She then worked in Centerville, IA, doing much the same kind of work. She and James opened Seasonal Bargains in Unionville and Rebecca had her own business, “Travel by Cruise Planners,” in which she helped people plan cruises.

Rebecca spent most of her life helping people, whether through her work or in her family. She was an encourager who knew how to push just enough to help people reach their full potential. Her outgoing and straightforward personality suited her well in whatever she did. Rebecca was also a great dog lover and her most recent canine companions were two Basset Hounds, Bo and Lucy, who went with her everywhere.

In addition to her husband, Rebecca is survived by two sons, Dylan Rollins of Green City, MO, and Eric Rollins of Chariton, IA. She is also survived by a sister, Cindy Robinson, of Clio, IA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Rebecca was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Sheppard, Jr., and a great-nephew, Ethan Jordan.

Rebecca’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services.
