Rebecca Sue Still, 63 of Kirksville passed away Sunday evening (November 5, 2017) at her home.
The daughter of Harry S. and Marian Lee (Anderson) Still, she was born March 7, 1954 in Kirksville, MO. In January of 1986 she was united in marriage to John McFarland and to this union three children were born.
Rebecca is survived by her three children, Nathan McFarland of Kirksville, Jennifer McFarland of Ashland, MO and Lindsey McFarland of Sedalia, MO; one brother, Lee Still of League City, TX; two sisters, Laura Still of Kirksville, and Rachel Hodson of Shawnee, KS; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. And her beloved dog, Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Louise Still; and one nephew, Grant Andrew Gibson.
Rebecca grew up in Macon, MO where she graduated from Macon High School. She attended Santa Clara University and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1977 with her B.A . in Psychology. She graduated from Northeast Missouri State University with her Master’s degree in Psychology in 1981. She worked at Laughlin Pavilion until 1993 when she opened a private practice in with her sister, at which she was still working at the time of her death.
She was a kind hearted person, a good listener, a friend to all, and a mother to many. She was very compassionate, had a good heart, and loved others without condition. She loved to travel, the beach, and animals. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (November 10, 2017) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (November 11, 2017) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry Lyons, Clayton Gibson, C.J. Downen, James Hicks, Sean Fretheim and Jason Sanning.
