Richard Eugene Clark

Richard Eugene Clark, 85, of Unionville, MO passed away at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital on January 14, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.

Richard E. Clark was born on August 17 ^th , 1936, in Grandview, MO, the youngest son of Bryan and Dora (Steele) Clark.  Richard graduated from Unionville High School before attending and receiving a BS degree in agriculture from the University of Missouri.  In 1957 he married Carolyn Couchman who passed away in 1995.  On April 17, 1999, Richard married Julia Ann Ranes and she survives at home.  Richard E. Clark was a member of the Unionville Methodist Church, served on the Hospital Board, and was active in the Farm Bureau serving also on their board.  Richard taught High School Ag and was a sponsor of FFA.  He was also very active in 4H, promoting and encouraging the community’s youth in agriculture education.  Richard also farmed his entire adult life, but as much as he loved agriculture, his grandkids brought him the most joy.

Richard is survived by his wife, Julia, of the home and a daughter, Diana Christine Clark Johnson and husband John of Mexico, MO.  His surviving grandsons are Johnny Johnson and wife Siobhan of Independence, MO and Bryan Johnson and wife Shanon of Jefferson City, MO.  Richard is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Jaxon Johnson, Aimzey Johnson, and Hattie Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a newborn son, Willis Brent Clark and brothers, Jack Russell Clark and Neil Bryan Clark.

Funeral services for Richard Clark will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville on Tuesday, January 18, at 2:00 with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery.
