Richard Hurley, 46 of Queen City passed away Thursday (April 5, 2018) at University Hospital in Columbia, MO after a six-year battle with cancer.
The son of Robert and Glenda (Richmond) Hurley, he was born April 7, 1971 in Kirksville, MO. On June 8, 1991 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Gina Findling.
Richard is survived by his wife, Gina; two daughters, Taylor and Emily Hurley of Queen City, MO; his mother and step father, Glenda and Robert Oliver of Queen City, MO; one brother, Kevin Cassiday and wife Charity of Indiana; his mother-in-law, Anna Browning and husband Dr. Glenn of Kirksville; his father-in-law, Sonny Findling of Kirksville; one brother-in-law, Lathan Findling of Kirksville; his beloved dogs, Rufus and Lucy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father; and one brother, Jimmy Hurley.
Richard grew up in Queen City and graduated from the Schuyler County High School in 1989. He worked as a self-employed flooring installer.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and playing pool. He played in many national pool tournaments. He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday (April 9, 2018) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (April 10, 2018) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be in Queen City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Casey McLin, Terry Thomas, Brian Rigdon, Jason Schempp, Mike Williams, and Bubba Withrow. Honorary bearers will be Gary “Hack” McCuskey, John Goins, Shawn Borsellino and all the guys from pool team.
Memorials are suggested to his daughter’s education fund or Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund.
