Robert Helton

Robert Helton, 71 of Laurie, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

The son of Hazel and Eugene Helton, he was born May 2, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri. He grew up in Elmer, Missouri where he graduated from High school. On April 28, 1990 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Helton. He worked as a long haul truck driver, with his greatest love being a “Bovine Relocator” (hauling cows).

Robert is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two sons, Luke (Patti Koo) Helton and Kit (Jonna Burns) Bailey; one daughter, Amanda (Marty) Maize; one brother, Neal (Susan Naughton) Helton; grandchildren, Chloe Helton, Owen Helton, Cody (Christy) Maize, Morgan (Shea) Maize, Trenten (Callum Morlas-Llam) Maize, Bryant Maize, Jaeden Bailey, Kasidy Bailey, Maya Bailey, and Harper Chan; great grandchildren, Jesse Maize and Colter Maize.

He enjoyed his motorcycle, collecting and working on C.B. radios, collecting guns and knives, listening to red dirt music and grilling for his friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
