Ronald Edward Bowers, 68 of Kirksville passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his home.

The son of Dr. Orville E. and Lila (Bergman) Bowers, he was born January 18, 1951 in Kirksville, Missouri. He attended the Kirksville schools, graduating from the Kirksville High School in 1969. On May 5, 1979 in St. Charles, Missouri he was united in marriage to Joyce Mountain. Ron worked the last ten years for Wal-Mart in Kirksville until he retired.

Ron’s passion was hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.

Ron is survived by his wife, Joyce; two children, Ali Neal and husband Bruce of Kiefer, Oklahoma and Paul Mountain and wife Krista of Queen City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Colton, Cody, Haylie, Joseph and Aiden; two brothers, Dr. Richard Bowers and wife Linda of Jefferson City, Missouri and Danny Bowers of Kirksville; life long friend, Scott Janes and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Jesse Neal.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Memorials in memory of Ron are suggested to George Rea Treatment Center.
