Roy Clay, 76, of Queen City, MO passed away Friday (February 7th, 2025) at his home is Queen City under hospice.

The son of Letha Marie Clay and Hugo Miller, Roy was born March 30th, 1948 in Unionville, MO. He grew up in Worthington and attended rural school in that area. He attended high school in Queen City. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Bamberg, Germany.

In 1973, Roy was united in marriage to Leotta Williams and to this marriage three children were born, Rhonda, Dee, and Betty. On June 12th, 1987, he was united in marriage to Joyce Johns.

Roy was a policeman for Queen City for nine years and worked for the Schuyler County Sheriffs office for a number of years. He was also the Mayor of Queen City for one term. He also did carpentry work.

Roy is survived by his wife Joyce; daughters, Rhonda Paddock and husband Nathanial, Delores Zadow and husband Matt, Heather Beustring and husband William, Betty Weber and husband Brent, and Sandy Moffett and husband Gary; eleven grandchildren: Larry, Damien, Randy, LeAnna, Emily, Niclole, Hannah, Evan, August, Brittney, and Brianna. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; brother, Walter Clay; sister, Shirley Starbuck; and half brothers, Stanley Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two half brothers, Ellis Miller and Howard Miller.

Roy was a member of the Queen City Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes, watching baseball, especially the St. louis Cardinals, old country music, gardening and canning, and spending time with family.

Roy will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
