At the age of 48, Russell Lee Webb passed at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Russell was surrounded by the loving support and care of family and close friends during his final days.
Russell was born in Unionville, Missouri, on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 1971, the youngest son of Jim and Ruth (Cook) Webb who reared Russell and his brothers on the sprawling rolling hills in western Putnam County, Missouri. At an early age, Russell developed a great passion for row crop farming and cattle through the mentorship and guidance of his father. During his youth Russell was active in 4-H and FFA and helped labor on the family farm operation. One of Russell’s fondest memories was working the wheat harvest as a teenager. Upon graduation from Putnam County High School in 1990, he attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, where he furthered his agricultural studies. After returning to his roots, Russell started a trucking company where he fostered a great appreciation for Peterbilt trucks and fast-paced living. He then opened a seed dealership to afford him the opportunity to spend more time with his son, Colton. Russell married Karrie Klingner on July 21, 2012, where they built a life together in Putnam County and combined their skill sets to grow a thriving seed warehouse and distribution company as well as a cow/calf operation in Northern Missouri and Southern Iowa. Russell is a member of the First Christian Church of Unionville.
