Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson passed away Tuesday evening (November 7, 2017) in the Schuyler County Nursing Home.

The son of Roy and Emily (Baker) Wilson, he was born August 6, 1948 in Burlington, Iowa. He attended the Salter School in Burlington until the fifth grade when he and his family then moved to England where he continued his education. At the age of sixteen he and his family moved back to the United States.

He was united in marriage to Julie Johnson and to this union one daughter, Leesa Marie Wilson was born.
Russell worked for BF&H Construction for Bud Brewer for several years in Davenport, Iowa, and then worked for the City of Moline, Illinois, until his retirement.


He is survived by his daughter, Leesa; three grandchildren, Anthony, Avery, and Aliga; a sister, Kimberley Farmer and husband Donald of Glenwood, MO; two brothers, Kevin Wilson of Davenport, IA and Keith Wilson and wife Terry of Belnap, IA; two nieces, eight nephews, eight great nieces and eight great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Wilson.

For the last seven months he had resided in Missouri to be near his sister and husband because of bad health. For the last six weeks he had resided at the Schuyler County Nursing Home.

Russell loved fast cars and had several muscle cars. He also had a Harley of which he was very proud. In his younger years he enjoyed skiing. He loved to be out in the Missouri sunshine, especially while boating. He and his nephew, Donnie had a good summer boating, sharing memories, and laughing which Russell enjoyed.

Russell had a big heart and was always there when needed for family, friends, and anyone who needed his help.

Graveside service will be held Saturday (November 11, 2017) at 11:00 a.m. at the Glenwood Cemetery with Chaplain Carrol Davenport officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, Missouri.
