Rusty Ray Kimmel

Rusty Ray Kimmel, 61, of Elmer, MO (formerly of Unionville, MO) passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on December 17, 2022.

Born March 9 th , 1961, in Unionville, MO, Rusty was the son of Worden and Loeta (Butler) Kimmel.  On December 27 th , 2003, Rusty was united in marriage to Jean Pope.

Rusty is survived by his wife Jean; six children, Kari Guffey and husband David of Powersville, MO, Ryan Kimmel and significant friend, Christian of Kansas City, MO, Nick Kimmel of Macon, MO, Crescent Smith and husband Eric of La Plata, MO, Dallas Roan and wife Danielle of Shelbyville, MO, and Caschelle Smith of West Fork, AR; sister Peggy Larson of Eldon, MO; brother Doug Kimmel and wife Kathleen of Unionville, MO; fifteen grandchildren, Courtney, Trevor, Tori, Gretchen, Ethan, Kimmy, Max, Cale, Chris, Nikiah, Beau, Keaton, Amelia, Sofia, and Ollie; as well as two great grand-children, Josie and Treylea.

Rusty was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Rusty was a graduate from Unionville High School with the Class of 1979. Rusty worked as a farm hand most of his life. He enjoyed prairie dog hunting in Wyoming and weekly suppers with his friends.  He was a member of the Martinstown Church of Christ. Above all, Rusty enjoyed teasing and playing with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Playle and Collins Funeral Home in Unionville, with Darl Davis officiating. Interment will follow the service at Martinstown Cemetery in Martinstown.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 1:00 pm to service time in the Playle and Collins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Franke, Brad Gillum, Greg Shipley, Greg Love, Phillip Burns and JW Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Kimmel, Nick Kimmel, Ethan Kimmel, Max Hall, Trevor Guffey, David Guffey, Cale Kimmel, Chris Kimmel, Dallas Roan, Keaton Roan, and Eric Smith.

Memorials may be made payable to the Martinstown Cemetery and entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home at 709 S. 27 th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
