Sandy Loughead

Sandy Loughead, 36, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, on Friday, August 19, 2022.
Cassandra “Sandy” Renee Loughead was born in Unionville, Missouri, on July 13, 1986, the daughter of Jay and Laura (Shoppell) Loughead. She graduated from Putnam County High School and then attended Indian Hills Community College. Sandy was always a hard worker with an entrepreneurial spirit. She began working at Bob’s Food Mart at the age of 15 and continued to work there until the store closed. She then worked at Hy-Vee in Unionville rising to assistant manager. But Sandy was a real go-getter. She was very active selling fruits and vegetables with the Market-On-The-Square in Unionville. She had Sandy’s Pumpkin Patch. She loved to deer hunt and trap wildlife. She could often be found helping out at Buzz’s Car Repair. Sandy raised fish in her home and was a wonderful and amazing cook, especially her desserts. She had a friendly outgoing personality and never met a stranger. She loved to tease and was a little bit ornery (in a good way). She also liked to draw. Her sunny disposition and open smile will be missed by the whole community.
Sandy is survived by her husband Sonny Holliday. She is also survived by her mother, her brother Matthew, and her sister Margaret. Other survivors are an uncle, Danie (Berneta) Loughead, and two aunts, Linda Capps and Margarett Myers. A host of friends also survive as well as very favorite cat, Lucky.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father and her uncles Joe Loughead, Dickie Loughead, and Tony Lunsford.
A visitation for Sandy was at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, Missouri from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, August 22, 2022. A private graveside service was at the Burnett Cemetery.
