Shirley Ann Mohr

Shirley Ann Mohr, 81, of Unionville, MO, passed away suddenly at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA, on November 19, 2017.

Shirley Mohr was born on May 16, 1936 the daughter of Benjamin and Leona (Weber) Mullane in Bellevue, IA.  After graduation she married Dwaine Mohr on December 29, 1956 in Hanover, IL.  As newlyweds Dwaine and Shirley ran a gas station and drove bus routes. Shirley later became a cook for the NE Community School in Goose Lake, IA, for 26 years.  After retirement, Shirley and Dwaine settled in a home at Lake Thunderhead (Unionville, MO) in 2005.  Shirley attended the St Mary’s Catholic Church in Centerville, IA, and actively participated with planned events of “The Lake Group.”  Shirley enjoyed the simplest things in life like crossword puzzles, crocheting, and reading books.

Shirley Mohr is survived by two children, daughter Cindy Schmidt and husband Rod of Dewitt, IA and son Kenny Mohr and wife Shelly of Fulton IL.  Shirley’s grandsons are Mike Schmidt and wife Erica and Nicklas Mohr.  Shirley’s granddaughters are Michelle Yutesler and husband Joel and Kelly Hosette and husband Eric.  Great Grandchildren are Kale Schmidt, Kyson Schmidt, Kinzlie Schmidt, Haley Yutesler, Zachary Yutesler, and Addy Hosette.  Shirley is also survived by a brother Gary Mullane and wife Donna and sisters Donna Zink and husband Harold and Pat Lathrop and husband Larry.

In addition to her parents Shirley was preceded in death by a step-father Edward Flynn.

Memorial services for Shirley Mohr will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Interment will be at a later date at the Reeseville Cemetery in Miles, IA.
