Shirley Ann Myers

Shirley Myers, 72, of Unionville, MO passed at the Putnam County Care Center on June 28, 2017.

Shirley was born on February 1, 1945 in rural Putnam County, MO, the daughter of George and Mary Ann Sheehan.  Shirley graduated from Unionville High School in 1962, and on October 23, 1964 she married Robert Myers at the Church of Christ in Unionville.  Together they built a home in the Rebel’s Cove area of Putnam County and raised a daughter, Lori Ann.  Shirley was a member of the Eastern Star and worked for Farmers Bank of Northern MO for 36 years.  After retirement, Shirley and Robert moved to town and stayed busy running around to different craft shows displaying and selling their crafted iron yard ornaments.  Shirley and her siblings shared an incredible tight bond throughout her life.  Her siblings were her best friends.

Shirley Myers is survived by her daughter Lori Ann Pearson and husband Josh of Unionville, MO and a granddaughter, Kloey May Pearson.  Shirley’s surviving brothers are Dennie Sheehan and wife Barb of Unionville, MO; Melvin Sheehan and wife Elnora of Unionville, MO; Bill Sheehan and wife Ruth of Iowa; and brother-in-law, Donald Butler of Unionville, MO.  Shirley’s surviving sisters are Margaret Salisbury and husband Darl of Unionville, MO; Ruth Milner and husband Glen of Unionville, MO; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Sheehan of Iowa.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is preceded in death by brothers, Garold Sheehan and Ralph Lee Sheehan who died in infancy.  She was also preceded by a sister, Opal Butler.

Funeral services for Shirley Myers will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 1, 2017, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.
