Steven Leroy Reed

Steven Reed, 59, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

Steven Leroy Reed was born in Rock Island, Illinois, on September 11, 1962, the son of James R. and Nancy (McGlothlin) Reed. He attended schools in Putnam County and later obtained his GED. He worked as an airbrush artist with Rudy Parcel early in his life. He also worked with his mother at the laundry mat and restaurant in Unionville. Steven was a gifted artist with paintings and charcoal drawing. He was also a talented singer who competed in talent contests, often winning. He played keyboards and piano. Steven liked computers and bought and sold on eBay.

Steven is survived by his mother, Nancy Barnhart of Unionville, Missouri. He is also survived by an aunt, Shirley Land; two nieces, Jenny Beeler and Tara Watts; and a nephew, Christopher Diveley as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Reed, and his sister, Diana (Tara) Gabriel.
