She graduated from Putnam County R-1High School in 1977 and then graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla. Tamara began working with the Hertz Rent-A-Car company and quickly worked her way up to a position as a trouble shooter for the company. That job took her all over the United States and to many foreign countries. She also had the opportunity to further her education at Notre Dame University, where she played on the golf team. Tamara decided to move to Unionville, MO, when her father passed away in 1989 to assume the business as an agent for State Farm Insurance. She still had that business at the time of her passing.
Tamara married Clifford Brown on September 16, 1993, and he survives at home on the farm in Livonia, a place Tamara dearly loved. She liked to raise purebred Limousin cattle. Tamara was also an avid golfer until her health started to decline. She belonged to the Unionville Country Club and the Unionville United Methodist Church. Tamara was previously a member of the Putnam County School Board, one of the first women to serve on that board. She was very generous at the Jr. Livestock sale at the Putnam County Fair. Tamara enjoyed her flowers, especially roses and competing with Dr. Casady at the Fair.
In addition to her husband, Tamara is also survived by a step-daughter, Marlene (Chris) Saacke of Minburn, IA, and an aunt, JoDeLene Whitaker of Platte City, MO.
Tamara was also preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Sewell.
