Tammy Sheehan, 54, of Unionville, MO, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tammy Marie Sheehan was born in Davenport, IA, on February 27, 1964, the daughter of Melvin and Ruth (Smith) Sheehan. She grew up in Unionville, MO, and except for brief stints in Oklahoma and Texas, lived the majority of her life in Unionville. Tammy worked at Dunlap Manufacturing, Ryals Convenience Store, as a waitress at the Steer-In Café and as a CNA. She was self-employed cleaning houses the last few years. Tammy had a lively and contagious personality. She loved to tease and was quite the jokester. She enjoyed hayrides and float trips and the Putnam County Fair. Tammy volunteered at the PC Café & Resource Center. She also liked to play Scratch-off Lottery. Tammy loved animals of all kinds, but especially her canine friends, Scooter, Buddy, Rocky, Chewy, and her special favorite Gabee. She married the love of her life, Dennis Harlan, on May 27, 2006. Tammy’s passion was her yard work, but her special love was reserved for her family, especially her children and grandson.
Tammy is survived by her father, Melvin and step-mother Elnora Sheehan, of Unionville. She is also survived by her daughter, Nikki (Jason) Hill of Unionville, and son, Richie (Keifer) Sheehan of Cedar Rapids, IA, as well as her grandson, Caden Hill, and sister, Connie (Brad) Sheehan of Unionville, MO.
Tammy was preceded in death by her mother and a daughter, Codi Buck.
A visitation for the family of Tammy Sheehan will be at the Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018 with a brief memorial service at 7:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the PC Café & Resource Center and may entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
