Teresa Casey, 67, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Teresa Gwen Casey was born in Booneville, Missouri, on June 16, 1955, the daughter of Harold and Delores (Lunsford) Summers. She was raised in Unionville by her mother and stepfather Delores Berry and John Berry. Teresa graduated from Unionville High School in 1973. Teresa received her education as a respiratory therapist in Belleville, Illinois. She worked in several hospitals in the St. Louis area and also worked a number of years as a paramedic. She worked at Golden Valley Hospital in Henry County, Missouri, as well as a paramedic in Unionville for several years. She married Rickey Casey in Macon, Missouri, on October 17, 1998.
Teresa was a person of varied interests. She loved to do art and craft work including diamond painting, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. She enjoyed raising and training dogs of all breeds. Teresa liked to deer hunt and liked horses. She was an avid reader, especially Christian books, romance novels, and non-fiction. Teresa was baptized as a Mormon in Macon, Missouri.
Teresa is survived by her husband of the home. Her children are Todd (Anna) Lawson of Moulton, Iowa, Heather (Greg) Ocker of Exline, Iowa, Melissa (Allen) Brill of Galt, Missouri, Barbara Miller, and Michelle Miller both of Unionville, Missouri. Her stepdaughters are Wendy (Ryan Smith) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Haley (Gene) Kirkpatrick of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Teresa is also survived by 11 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Her father, John Berry, also survives as well as two brothers, Johnn Summers and Kevin Berry, both of Unionville, and a sister, Cheryl (Robert) Tucker of Arizona. Her canine friends Quincy and Hattie also survive.
Teresa was preceded in death by her twin sister, Diana Rogers, her brother Jeff Berry, and her mother, Delores Berry.
Memorial services for Teresa Casey will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 26, 2022. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made payable to Tunnels to Towers and entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27 th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
