Vera Loretta Tribble

Vera Tribble, 85, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville on Monday, April 19, 2021, after a short illness.

Vera Loretta (Young) Tribble was born in Rockbridge Township, Greene County, Illinois, on December 31, 1935, the daughter of Lee R. and Sylvia Mae (Long) Young.  She graduated from Medora (Illinois) High School in 1954 and married Gary Tribble in Carrollton, Illinois, on October 10, 1954. She and Gary lived in Normal, Illinois, while he attended college  and then lived in Germany for 2 ½ years while Gary was in the United States Army.  They enjoyed traveling throughout Europe during their time in Germany.  Vera and Gary moved to Olathe, Kansas, after his discharge where Vera worked for Hallmark Cards.  Vera was a homemaker for many years as Gary moved in the implement and banking industries. They made their home in Marion, Indiana; Morrisonville and Milledgeville, Illinois; and Bethany, Salisbury, and lived in Unionville since 1985.  Vera began working at Farmers Bank in Unionville in 1994 and continued working there until her death.  She was always a pleasant face to see at her receptionist’s desk and greeted each person as a friend.  Vera always handled herself with grace and dignity.

Vera liked to travel, having visited Italy, Southeast Asia, and Mexico, as well as traveling with Gary to various banking conferences. She also enjoyed shopping, especially with her daughter. She was a member of PEO Chapter A in Unionville and of the Eastern Star when she lived in Illinois.  She attended the First Christian Church in Unionville.

Vera is survived by her son, David Tribble, of Unionville, and by her daughter, Diana (fiancé Donnie McNeece) Bennett of Bethany, Missouri. Her grandchildren are Garrett (Emily) Bennett, Lynette (Ted) Luecke, and Derek (Jessie) Tribble.  Her great grandson is Leon Luecke.  She is also survived by her brother, Ornan (Betty) Young, of Kane, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gary, who died June 19, 1998.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lisa Tribble; two brothers, Jim and Leancle Young; and a sister, Sue Kirchner.

Funeral services for Vera Tribble will be at Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 23, 2021, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Facial coverings are requested.  Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, Missouri.
