Vesta Morrissey, 65 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (November 7, 2018) at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
The daughter of Spurgeon Thomas and Ruth (Hannan) Norman, she was born October 12, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri. She grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Southeast High School. She graduated from beauty school and was a hairstyles for 40+ years.
In 1972 she was united in marriage to Victor Arnone. In February of 1984 she was united in marriage to Mark Morrissey and they have been married 34 years.
Vesta was active in the Cornerstone Church. She was a great mother, loved her kids and grandkids. She was a friend maker and made friends everywhere she went. She was a fantastic shopper, loved the lake, could always make you laugh and was willing to laugh at herself.
Vesta is survived be her husband, Mark; one son, Victor Arnone and wife Tammy of Eustis, FL; one daughter, Nicole Mitchell and husband Tyler of Belton, MO; four grandchildren, Noel and Tenley Mitchell, Austin Forsythe and Chandler Fry; one brother, Spurgeon Norman II and wife Kim of Bella Vista, AR; one sister, Sabra Armstrong and husband Larry of Gladstone, MO; her mother-in-law, Beverly Morrissey of Kirksville; Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary & Paul Renner, Dan Morrissey and Amy Fleshman; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her ex-husband, Victor Arnone.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday (November 11, 2018) with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church in Kirksville. Burial will be in Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery.
