Virginia R. Lancaster

Virginia R. Lancaster, 92 of LaPlata, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Fredrick William and Violet Minnie (Riley) Stribling, she was born September 9, 1931 in Adair County, Missouri. She attended school in Brashear and graduated from the Brashear High School. Most of her adult life was spent as a homemaker and raising her children. She did some work as an instructor in rural country schools and did ministering to small Churches in the area. She was very outgoing, enjoyed helping people and made a lot of friends. She was a Christian worker and gave scholarships for students to go to Christian schools. She loved her cats.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Vaneta Mae (John) McKim of Kirksville; two grandchildren, Jeremiah (Lexi Bunch) McKim of Kirksville and Adam David (Lovely) McKim of Kirksville; two great grandchildren, Nirvana and Casteil McKim; one brother, Mark (Patricia) Stribling of Kirksville; nieces and nephews, Beth Ann (Wayne) Manly, Sharon (Steven) Walter-Williams, Danny Stribling, James Stribling, Rebecca (Chad) Troy, Raquel Merryman, and Melissa (Wayne) Butterbrought; great nieces and nephews, Jackson, Grayson, Lauren, and Sydney.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
