Walter Roscoe Daniels, 81 of Kirksville passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home.
The son of Walter and Wilma (Fry) Daniels, he was born July 5, 1938 in Centerville, Iowa. On August 31, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa he was united in marriage to Helen Fillman.
Roscoe is survived by his wife, Helen; his children, Michele Crase of Kirkland, IL, Vicky Daniels of Ft. Atkinson, WI, and Paul Daniels of Aurora, IL; five grandchildren, Brooke Woods and husband Nathan, Bridget Crase and fiancée Brandon Boo, Joseph Crase, Nicholas Bardell, and Merissa Daniels; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Cora Woods; one sister, Ellen Daniels of Des Moines, IA; one brother-in-law, Larry Fillman of Des Moines, IA; one sister-in-law, Beverly Peebler of Medford, OR and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ernest Daniels; two sisters, Edith Hull and Helen Walden; one niece, Tina Zugg and one nephew, Mark Hull.
Roscoe grew up in Centerville, Iowa and graduate from Centerville High School in 1956. While in high school he acted in several plays. He worked for the railroad for eleven years and then for the next thirty years for Tootsie Roll until he retired.
He enjoyed woodworking and had a picture framing business. He also enjoyed nature and feeding the birds and enjoyed coaching girls softball for five years.
Roscoe will be cremated and service and interment will be held in Centerville, Iowa.
