William (Gene) Wayman

William Eugene (Gene) Wayman, age 89, of Kearney, MO passed away peacefully on December 19, 2017, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home.

William was born on August 01, 1928, in Adair County, to William Forrest and Edith Pearl Gregory Wayman. On August 28, 1946, he was united in marriage to Alice Coleen Richmond and to this marriage three daughters were born.

He is survived by his wife, Alice, of the home; daughters, Vicki Brown of Kansas City, MO; Pamela (David) Kirkpatrick of Kearney, MO; and Kimberly (Dave) Lamaster of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Shelly (Matt) Brantner of Kearney, MO and Dylan Lamaster of Kansas City, MO; and one great grandson, Jeb Brantner of Kearney, MO.

William was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Richard N. Brown.

William graduated from Kirksville Senior High School. He lived and worked in Kirksville for many years, working for Crown Financial Services and the Adair County Assessor’s Office until his retirement. Upon his retirement he and his wife moved to Kearney, MO to be close to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed his family, reading, staying up on current events and working at his farm raising cattle.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday December 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville, MO. Arrangements under the direction of Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
