William Jenkins

September 5, 1939 — February 6, 2018

William Lee Jenkins, 78 of Kirksville passed away Tuesday (February 6, 2018) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The son of William Ronald and Blanche (Shutts) Jenkins, he was born September 5, 1939 in Winterset, Iowa. On November 21, 1989 in Kirksville, MO he was united in marriage to Rhonda Ruggles.

William is survived by his wife, Rhonda; his five children, Larry (Kim) Gibson of Kirksville, Morty Gibson of Kirksville, Linda Gibson of Troy, MO, Amanda Clark of Green Castle, MO and LaDonna Rude of Kirksville; and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and three brothers.

William grew up in Winterset, Iowa where he graduated from the Winterset High School. He moved to this area where he worked several different jobs, but the job he enjoyed the most was being a truck driver.

He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, Arrangements under the direction of Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
